Introduction
DriveTracker ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application (the "App"). Please read this privacy policy carefully. If you do not agree with the terms of this privacy policy, please do not access the application.
Data Storage and Information Collection
Location Data (Stored Locally Only)
DriveTracker is a location tracking application that requires access to your device's location services to function properly.
- Always Location Permission: The App requires "Always" location permission to track your driving routes even when the app is not actively in use. This is essential for the core functionality of continuous route recording.
- GPS Coordinates: The App stores precise GPS coordinates (latitude, longitude, altitude, speed, and timestamp) during your recording sessions locally on your device.
- Route Information: The App stores your complete driving routes, including start/end points, waypoints, distance traveled, and duration locally on your device.
Important: All location data is stored exclusively on your device and optionally synced to your personal iCloud account. We (the app developers) do not have access to, collect, or store your location data on our servers. Your location data never leaves your device except when you choose to enable iCloud sync, which stores it in your own Apple iCloud account.
Information We Actually Collect
The only information we collect from our servers is:
- Device Identifiers: Device model, operating system version, and unique device identifiers
- App Usage Data: Features used, session duration, and interaction patterns (via Firebase Analytics)
- Performance Data: Crash reports and app performance metrics
User Account Information
- Anonymous Authentication: We use Firebase Anonymous Authentication to provide basic user identification. No personal information (name, email, phone number) is required or collected during this process.
- Anonymous User ID: A randomly generated unique identifier is assigned to your device for analytics and future account migration purposes.
Purchase Information
- In-App Purchases: We use Apple's StoreKit 2 to process premium subscriptions and one-time purchases. We do not collect or store your payment information. All payment processing is handled securely by Apple.
- Purchase Records: We store information about your premium subscription status locally on your device to enable premium features.
- Pricing: Subscription and purchase prices vary by region and are subject to change. Current pricing is displayed in the App Store and within the App.

iCloud Storage
- Optional Sync: You can choose to enable iCloud synchronization to back up your data and sync across devices
- Apple's Infrastructure: When iCloud sync is enabled, your data is stored in your personal iCloud account managed by Apple
- End-to-End Encryption: iCloud data is protected by Apple's security measures
Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data:

Important: Since all location data is stored locally on your device or in your personal iCloud account, the security of your data largely depends on the security of your device and Apple ID.
